Witness



What is a witness?


Dictionary
attestation of a fact or event.
one that gives evidence; specifically.
one who testifies in a cause or before a judicial tribunal. one asked to be present at a transaction so as to be able to testify to its having taken place.
one who has personal knowledge of something. something serving as evidence or proof. public affirmation by word or example of usually religious faith or conviction.




We are witnesses to the rising of the Prince of Life.


The Lord our God wants us to be good witnesses as an example to others about Him.





Acts 26;16

But get up and stand on your feet; for this purpose I have appeared to you, to appoint you a minister and a witness not only to the things which you have seen, but also to the things in which I will appear to you.


Psalm 66;16
Come! Listen, all you who are loyal to God! I will declare what he has done for me.


Exodus 23;1
[ Justice ] “You must not give a false report. Do not make common cause with the wicked to be a malicious witness.


Leviticus 5;1
 “‘When a person sins in that he hears a public curse against one who fails to testify and he is a witness (he either saw or knew what had happened) and he does not make it known, then he will bear his punishment for iniquity.

Proverbs 30;5
“Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.”

Deuteronomy 4;26
I invoke heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that you will surely and swiftly be removed from the very land you are about to cross the Jordan to possess. You will not last long there because you will surely be annihilated.


Deuteronomy 17;6
At the testimony of two or three witnesses they must be executed. They cannot be put to death on the testimony of only one witness.



Deuteronomy 19;14
[ Laws Concerning Witnesses ] You must not encroach on your neighbor’s property, which will have been defined in the inheritance you will obtain in the land the Lord your God is giving you.


Witness of the scriptures

John 5;39-47
39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; 40 and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life. 41 I do not receive glory from men; 42 but I know you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves. 43 I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, you will receive him. 44 How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God? 45 Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have set your hope. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me. 47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

Acts 1;8
"but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”



Acts 1;22
"beginning with the baptism of John until the day that He was taken up from us—one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.”



Acts 2;32
This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses.

Romans 1;9
