Why is there so much confusion, disruption, and disagreements in today’s world?

Why is there an attitude “I’m right and you're wrong”?

Why is there an attitude “I know how to protect you because you don’t understand it?”

Why is there so many hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, and earthquakes today?

Are we near the end times?

1 Corinthians 1:19
For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the cleverness of the clever I will set aside.”

1 Peter 2:7-8
This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve,
“The stone which the builders rejected,
This became the very corner stone,”
and,
“A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense”;

for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed.

When we have division and separation;

Where is the prayer?

Do we make quick irrational decisions or do we turn to God?

Why does division and separation cause short tempers, irrational thinking and delusions?

Do we hear one side of a story and believe it?

Do we believe all gossip?

Where is forgiveness?

Where is the humility?

Where is the love?

Why are we leaning on hearsay and our own understanding?

What would Jesus do?

Romans 13
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except by God’s appointment, and the authorities that exist have been instituted by God. So the person who resists such authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will incur judgment (forrulers cause no fear for good conduct but for bad). Do you desire not to fear authority? Do good and you will receive its commendation.

Referring to the scriptures below, is this happening in today’s world?

Is The Lord our King?

How blessed are we to take refuge in Him?

Psalm 2

1

Why are the nations in an uproar

And the peoples devising a vain thing?

The kings of the earth take their stand

and the rulers take counsel together

against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,

“Let us tear their fetters apart

and cast away their cords from us!”

He who sits in the heavens laughs,

The Lord scoffs at them.

Then He will speak to them in His anger

And terrify them in His fury, saying,

“But as for Me, I have installed My King

Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

“I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord:

He said to Me, ‘You are My Son,

Today I have begotten You.

‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance,

And the very ends of the earth as Your possession.

‘You shall break them with a rod of iron,

You shall shatter them like earthenware.’”

10

Now therefore, O kings, show discernment;

Take warning, O judges of the earth.

11

Worship the Lord with reverence

And rejoice with trembling.

12

Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way,

For His wrath may soon be kindled.

How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!

Do we get depressed at times?

Are we living in fear?

Do we have the feeling of being insignificant or left out?

All of a sudden we are forced into a controlled environment away from freedom, how can this not cause stress and depression?

In today’s world of turmoil and radical disruptions, we are flooded with diversions away from the Lord.

Who is happy about this?

We are in a spiritual warfare. Are these the signs of the end times?

Is the enemy working overtime because he knows his time is short?

Satan loves it when we listen to all the negative news and it’s sensationalism. The enemy knows anything that can divert us away from the Lord our God could possibly destroy and tear us apart.

We are told by God in the scriptures that unity is good, separation is not good.

Lockdown divides us and destroys face to face interaction and communication which we’ve experienced our whole life.

If we are led by the world today it is all about separation, hopelessness, stress, weakness and depression.

What can we do?

How do we cope?

As Christians how do we combat negativity and depression?

How do we fight this?

As you know we must not lose faith and trust in God with His love for us.

We must not doubt or blame the Lord for bad things that happen, we must blame the enemy.

Jesus must be our number one priority always.

As Christian brothers and sisters we must stick together and show love, empathy, encouragement and compassion towards each other, the Bible tells us so.

As you know it’s so important we pray and study the scriptures on a daily basis.

We must stand firm and persevere with open eyes and ears to the Lord and His will.

Even though it’s hard to do at times, we must smile and laugh.

We must be optimistic and focus on happiness and laughter.

It’s imperative we remember all the ways the Lord has blessed us.

Because of the lockdown all of a sudden we have more idol time on our hands, therefore we watch more TV, it’s not good.

How much time do we spend in a day watching TV verses praying and studying God’s Word?

We need to avoid less news, depressing movies and TV shows.

On the other hand it’s so important we laugh and spend 1/2 hour a day watching a comedy especially before going to bed.

God created laugher for a reason, laughter is good medicine.

We must not get discouraged,

and remember Jesus loves us and is at our side to lift us up.

It’s so important we get out of the house, go outside and breathe fresh air and sit in the sun and admire the flowers and all that God has created.

We must dwell on the fact that Jesus will protect us and the Holy Spirit will guide us.

We must hold on tight, we must stay tuned up, we must not rust.

We must not lean on our own understanding or the understanding of others driven by ulterior motives and pride.

Prayer

Dear Lord I come to You in Jesus’ name,

thank You for all that You do and have done.

Place a shield of armor around us for protection from this virus and any insidious and demonic sources.

Thank You for watching over all our families and Christian brothers and sisters.

Bless and protect our beloved Pastors.

May this current worldly situation open up eyes and ears of unbelievers to You so they see Your light and believe and accept You into their hearts.

Relieve all anxiety and frustrations from our minds and bodies with strong faith and trust in You only. Give us courage, help us to persevere.

May we never question or blame You. Strengthen our hearts and minds and not listen to our own understanding or any worldly reasoning with their ulterior motives.

Help us to always focus on a growing life of sanctification and righteousness, serving others in Your name.

May we be humble and blameless always.

Help us to be optimistic and fight off any negativity.

Bless us, may the Holy Spirit give us wisdom and guidance always.

Amen

Matthew 11:28

Proverbs 30:5

“Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.”

Psalm 27:14

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

1 Chronicles 29:11

2 Timothy 1:7

God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid but a spirit of power and love and

self-control.

2 Corinthians 4:17

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

Proverbs 4:20-23

20 My child, pay attention to my words; listen attentively to my sayings.

21 Do not let them depart from your sight, guard them within your heart,

22 for they are life to those who find them and healing to one’s entire body.

23 Guard your heart with all vigilance for from it are the sources of life.

1 John 5:4

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

2 Corinthians 1:3-7

Praise to the God of All Comfort

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who

comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. 6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

1 Corinthians 8:6

yet for us there is

but one God, the

Father, from whom are all things and we exist

for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist

through Him.

Trust and security

Psalm 37:1-10

Do not fret because of those who are evil

    or be envious of those who do wrong;

for like the grass they will soon wither,

    like green plants they will soon die away.

Trust in the Lord and do good;

    dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

Take delight in the Lord,

    and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord;

    trust in him and he will do this:

He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,

    your justice like the noonday sun.

Be still before the Lord

    and wait patiently for him;

do not fret when people succeed in their ways,

    when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;

    do not fret—it leads only to evil.

For those who are evil will be destroyed,

    but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

10

A little while, and the wicked will be no more;

    though you look for them, they will not be found.

Romans 15:4-6

4 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

5 Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus,

6 so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Chronicles 29:11

O Lord, you are great, mighty, majestic, magnificent, glorious, and sovereign on ver all the sky and earth! You, Lord, have dominion and exalt yourself as the ruler of all.

Jeremiah 23:1-4

The Coming Messiah; the Righteous Branch

“Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of My pasture!” declares the Lord. Therefore thus says the Lord God of Israel concerning the shepherds who are tending My people; “You have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not attended to them; behold, I am about to attend to you for the evil of your deeds,” declares the Lord. “Then I Myself will gather the remnant of My flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and bring them back to their pasture, and they will be fruitful and multiply. I will also raise up shepherds over them and they will tend them; and they will not be afraid any longer, nor be terrified, nor will any be missing,” declares the Lord.

Matthew 6:25-34

Do Not Worry

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life ?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

2 Corinthians 4:1

Therefore, since we have this ministry, just as God has shown us mercy, we do not become discouraged.

Can we relate these scriptures in Zephaniah to what is happening in our current times?

Romans 15:4-6 (NASB)

For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Zephaniah 3 (RSV)

The Wickedness of Jerusalem

1 Woe to her that is rebellious and defiled,

    the oppressing city!

She listens to no voice,

    she accepts no correction.

She does not trust in the Lord,

    she does not draw near to her God.

Her officials within her

    are roaring lions;

her judges are evening wolves

    that leave nothing till the morning.

Her prophets are wanton,

    faithless men;

her priests profane what is sacred,

    they do violence to the law.

The Lord within her is righteous,

    he does no wrong;

every morning he shows forth his justice,

    each dawn he does not fail;

    but the unjust knows no shame.

“I have cut off nations;

    their battlements are in ruins;

I have laid waste their streets

    so that none walks in them;

their cities have been made desolate,

    without a man, without an inhabitant.

I said, ‘Surely she will fear me,

    she will accept correction;

she will not lose sight

    of all that I have enjoined upon her.’

But all the more they were eager

    to make all their deeds corrupt.”

Punishment and Conversion of the Nations

“Therefore wait for me,” says the Lord,

    “for the day when I arise as a witness.

For my decision is to gather nations,

    to assemble kingdoms,

to pour out upon them my indignation,

    all the heat of my anger;

for in the fire of my jealous wrath

    all the earth shall be consumed.

“Yea, at that time I will change the speech of the peoples

    to a pure speech,

that all of them may call on the name of the Lord

    and serve him with one accord.

10

From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia

    my suppliants, the daughter of my dispersed ones,

    shall bring my offering.

11

“On that day you shall not be put to shame

    because of the deeds by which you have rebelled against me;

for then I will remove from your midst

    your proudly exultant ones,

and you shall no longer be haughty

    in my holy mountain.

12

For I will leave in the midst of you

    a people humble and lowly.

They shall seek refuge in the name of the Lord,

13

    those who are left in Israel;

they shall do no wrong

    and utter no lies,

nor shall there be found in their mouth

    a deceitful tongue.

For they shall pasture and lie down,

    and none shall make them afraid.”

A Song of Joy

14

Sing aloud, O daughter of Zion;

    shout, O Israel!

Rejoice and exult with all your heart,

    O daughter of Jerusalem!

15

The Lord has taken away the judgments against you,

    he has cast out your enemies.

The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst;

    you shall fear evil no more.

16

On that day it shall be said to Jerusalem:

“Do not fear, O Zion;

    let not your hands grow weak.

17

The Lord your God is in your midst,

    a warrior who gives victory;

he will rejoice over you with gladness,

    he will renew you in his love;

he will exult over you with loud singing

18

    as on a day of festival.

“I will remove disaster from you,

    so that you will not bear reproach for it.

19

Behold, at that time I will deal

    with all your oppressors.

And I will save the lame

    and gather the outcast,

and I will change their shame into praise

    and renown in all the earth.

20

At that time I will bring you home,

    at the time when I gather you together;

yea, I will make you renowned and praised

    among all the peoples of the earth,

when I restore your fortunes

    before your eyes,” says the Lord.
