Conceit

What is conceit ?
Conceit is evil egotistical pride, putting oneself above others, it is a sin. 

The Lord hates haughty eyes;
blatantly and disdainfully proud.

Dictionary 
favorable opinion
especially excessive appreciation of one's own worth or virtue.

We are not to be wise in our own eyes.



Job 37;24
“Therefore men fear him; he does not regard any who are wise in their own conceit.”


2 Corinthians 12;20
For I fear that perhaps I may come and find you not what I wish, and that you may find me not what you wish; that perhaps there may be quarreling, jealousy, anger, selfishness, slander, gossip, conceit, and disorder.


Galatians 5;26
Let us have no self-conceit, no provoking of one another, no envy of one another.

Philippians 2;3
Do nothing from selfishness or conceit, but in humility count others better than yourselves.


Romans 12;16
16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly. Do not be conceited.
