What
is a Christian?
What
is Salvation?
Ii's sad but in this day and age there are many
different misconceptions of what a Christian is.
Million's of people believe that they are a Christian simply because they
believe in God,
attend church, tithe, and treat others kindly.
Some
believe they are a Christian simply if they are a member of a church.
These
folks must be witnessed to and taught. They must understand the complete
details of salvation.
Believers
and unbelievers are confusing terminologies.
Many
believe they are a Christian just because they believe there is a God.
Believing
in God does not make us a Christian.
What
is salvation?
How
are we saved?
Salvation
is the process and transformation of and by asking the Lord for forgiveness of
our sins
and accepting Jesus into our heart.
Salvation
is a deliverance and new life and continuous grow in sanctification,
righteousness,
fighting sin, and resisting the enemy and the world direction.
Salvation is loving Jesus, adhering
and being led by Gods will and grace.
Salvation
is living a life of faith, humility, and blamelessness.
Salvation
is loving and serving Jesus and others.
We
must be imitators of Christ.
Romans
12;2
And
do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind,
so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and
acceptable and perfect.
Hebrews
2;1-4
Give Heed
1 For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it. 2 For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty, 3 how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at the first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard, 4 God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.

The Christian’s Walk
17 So this I say, and affirm
together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk,
in the futility of their mind, 18 being darkened in their
understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is
in them, because of the hardness of their heart; 19 and they,
having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the
practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. 20 But you did
not learn Christ in this way, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and
have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, 22 that, in
reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is
being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, 23 and that
you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and put on the new
self, which in the likeness of God has been created in
righteousness and holiness of the truth.
25 Therefore, laying aside
falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, for we are
members of one another. 26 Be angry, and yet do not sin; do
not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and do not give the devil
an opportunity. 28 He who steals must steal no longer; but rather
he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have
something to share with one who has need. 29 Let no
unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is
good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it
will give grace to those who hear. 30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit
of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let
all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you,
along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted,
forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
1 Thessalonians 5;12-28
Christian Conduct
12 But we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over you in the Lord and give you instruction, 13 and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another. 14 We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15 See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people. 16 Rejoice always; 17 pray without ceasing; 18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not quench the Spirit; 20 do not despise prophetic utterances. 21 But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; 22 abstain from every form of evil.
23 Now may the God of peace
Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be
preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Faithful
is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.
25 Brethren, pray for us.
26 Greet all the brethren with a
holy kiss. 27 I adjure you by the Lord to have this letter read to
all the brethren.
28 The grace of our Lord Jesus
Christ be with you.

Peter 4;12-19
Share the Sufferings of Christ
12 Beloved, do not be surprised
at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though
some strange thing were happening to you; 13 but to the degree that
you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the
revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation. 14 If you
are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of
glory and of God rests on you. 15 Make sure that none of you
suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler; 16 but
if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to
glorify God in this name. 17 For it is time for judgment to
begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first,
what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And
if it is with difficulty that the righteous is saved, what will become of the
godless man and the sinner? 19 Therefore, those also who suffer
according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in
doing what is right.
1 Peter 1;3-21
Believers’ Salvation and the Work of God
3 I can pray this because his divine
power has bestowed on us everything necessary for life and godliness
through the rich knowledge of the one who called us by his own glory and
excellence. 4 Through these things he has bestowed on us his
precious and most magnificent promises, so that by means of what was promised
you may become partakers of the divine nature, after escaping the worldly
corruption that is produced by evil desire. 5 For this very reason,
make every effort to add to your faith excellence, to excellence, knowledge; 6 to
knowledge, self-control; to self-control, perseverance; to perseverance,
godliness; 7 to godliness, brotherly affection; to brotherly
affection, unselfish love. 8 For if these things are really yours
and are continually increasing, they will keep you from becoming ineffective
and unproductive in your pursuit of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ more
intimately. 9 But concerning the one who lacks such things—he is
blind. That is to say, he is nearsighted, since he has forgotten about the
cleansing of his past sins. 10 Therefore, brothers and sisters,
make every effort to be sure of your calling and election. For by doing this
you will never stumble into sin. 11 For thus an entrance into the
eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be richly provided
for you.
Salvation Based on the Word of God
12 Therefore, I intend to remind
you constantly of these things even though you know them and are well
established in the truth that you now have. 13 Indeed, as long as I
am in this tabernacle, I consider it right to stir you up by way of a reminder,
14 since I know that my tabernacle will soon be removed, because
our Lord Jesus Christ revealed this to me. 15 Indeed, I will also
make every effort that, after my departure, you have a testimony of these
things.
16 For we did not follow
cleverly concocted fables when we made known to you the power and return of our
Lord Jesus Christ; no, we were eyewitnesses of his grandeur. 17 For
he received honor and glory from God the Father, when that voice was conveyed
to him by the Majestic Glory: “This is my dear Son, in whom I am delighted.” 18 When
this voice was conveyed from heaven, we ourselves heard it, for we were with
him on the holy mountain. 19 Moreover, we possess the prophetic
word as an altogether reliable thing. You do well if you pay attention to this
as you would to a light shining in a murky place, until the day dawns and the
morning star rises in your hearts. 20 Above all, you do well if you
recognize this: No prophecy of scripture ever comes about by the prophet’s own
imagination, 21 for no prophecy was ever borne of human impulse;
rather, men carried along by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

Christian
Unity and Christ’s Humility
2 Therefore, if there is any
encouragement in Christ, any comfort provided by love, any fellowship in the
Spirit, any affection or mercy, 2 complete my joy and be of the
same mind, by having the same love, being united in spirit, and having one
purpose. 3 Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition or
vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more
important than yourself. 4 Each of you should be concerned not only
about your own interests, but about the interests of others as well. 5 You
should have the same attitude toward one another that Christ Jesus had,
6
who
though he existed in the form of God
did
not regard equality with God
as
something to be grasped,
7
but
emptied himself
by
taking on the form of a slave,
by
looking like other men,
and
by sharing in human nature.
8
He
humbled himself,
by
becoming obedient to the point of death
—even
death on a cross!
9
As a
result God highly exalted him
and
gave him the name
that
is above every name,
10
so
that at the name of Jesus
every
knee will bow
—in
heaven and on earth and under the earth—
11
and
every tongue confess
that
Jesus Christ is Lord
to
the glory of God the Father.
Lights
in the World
12 So then, my dear friends,
just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence but even more in my
absence, continue working out your salvation with awe and reverence, 13 for
the one bringing forth in you both the desire and the effort—for the sake of his
good pleasure—is God. 14 Do everything without grumbling or
arguing, 15 so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God
without blemish though you live in a crooked and perverse society, in which you
shine as lights in the world 16 by holding on to the word of life
so that on the day of Christ I will have a reason to boast that I did not run
in vain nor labor in vain. 17 But even if I am being poured out
like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and
rejoice together with all of you. 18 And in the same way you also
should be glad and rejoice together with me.
Models
for Ministry
19 Now I hope in the Lord Jesus
to send Timothy to you soon, so that I too may be encouraged by hearing news
about you. 20 For there is no one here like him who will readily
demonstrate his deep concern for you. 21 Others are busy with their
own concerns, not those of Jesus Christ. 22 But you know his
qualifications, that like a son working with his father, he served with me in
advancing the gospel. 23 So I hope to send him as soon as I know
more about my situation, 24 though I am confident in the Lord that
I too will be coming to see you soon.

[
The False Teachers’ Ungodly Lifestyle ] But false prophets arose among the
people, just as there will be false teachers among you. These false teachers
will infiltrate your midst with destructive heresies, even to the point of
denying the Master who bought them. As a result, they will bring swift
destruction on themselves.
